Over 6,500 “Just Ask!” T-shirts Sold as of 5/31/11!!!!

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

As promised, I intend to pay tribute to each and everyone who sends me a photo of themselves or someone else they know, wearing one of my Just Ask T-Shirts.

I see by these outward expressions that people really do care about those with NF and spreading the word, they care first by purchasing one of my shirts and by wearing the shirt in public, and lastly by taking the time to have their picture taken. Here is what I desire; send me a picture of you or someone else wearing one of my shirts. I think this is going to be a lot of fun, lets see just how public everyone can be, the more people around, the better exposure NF will have, (a little raise in shirt sales won’t hurt ether.)

Some of you may not have received your orders as yet, but I’m sure you will receive it soon. I personally fold and prepare each shirt for shipment, and try to stay caught up as best as is possible. The photos will be posted, as they are received. Old pictures are ok too, it is never too late, even if your shirt is faded it’s ok. I’m looking forward to receiving yours soon. If you only have hard copy pictures, that’s ok, I’ll find someone to scan them and I’ll return the originals if requested. Please no inappropriate photos, G-Rated only please, Also please include your name properly spelled as you desire or maybe written on the back of the hard copies. Thank you! Reggie

Just Ask! Foundation to be Honored at Houston Roller Derby Opener, Saturday, March 19!!!!

Monday, February 28th, 2011

It’s back!

Hot, sweaty roller derby action is back in Houston and Lou and I will be there every match this season! Season starts Saturday, March 19th, at their new venue at Houston Indoor Sports on I-45. Sure will miss some of the skaters that retired last year but look forward to meeting the new skaters who are taking their place.

If you have never experience Houston Roller Derby, you must come out on March 19th! Forget everything you think about roller derby! This is the real deal! Forget the fake stuff you’ve seen on TV and the movies, these are real live women who live in Houston and who have regular jobs during the week, just like you and me, who love to skate and bang heads!

During the week, these girls are account executives, IT security analysts, lawyers, med school students, teachers, and massage therapists but on weekends, they are Hell on Wheels!!!

This season, the Just Ask! Foundation is once again humbled and touched to be honored by the Houston Roller Derby as their Charity for March 2011! This is a very prestigious honor and we have been extremely fortunate to have received this honor from HRD for the past four years!!!!

I love Houston Roller Derby! The women who skate are tough on the outside but are the sweetest, most wonderful people on the inside. Every time I go, they make me feel like I’m the most important person in the world!

Please come out and join Lou and I as we support the only professional sports team in Houston that you can buy a drink for afterward!!!

The Tarrant County College Speaking Engagement was a TREMENDOUS Success!

Saturday, February 12th, 2011

Last week, I had speaking engagements in Dallas and Forth Worth, Texas, thanks to my old friend Bob Hopkins, who I met when he was Executive Director of The Texas Neurofibromatosis Foundation.  Bob Hopkins  is now teaching for Tarrant County College.

Before I go any further,  I want to thank every student for taking the time to come hear me speak.  It would have not been a success without their involvement. Thank you all, for your time and kindness.

At Eastfield College, my friend Patrick O’Dooley emceed the event in front of 50 students.  He stood beside me during Q and A, he and I fielding questions that the students had.

I met Patrick during one of his  motivational classes  a few years ago. Patrick was one of the first people I have met who was instrumental in making me feel good about myself and making every day a TREMENDOUS day!  I’m thankful Patrick was there for me!

In attendance at the speaking engagements were two professors of Sociology and Environmental Sciences, from Collin College.  I spoke UP CLOSE and PERSONAL.  The  President of Tarrant County South College, addressed the students and stayed for my speech there.

By my sixth speech in two days,  I’m told I was a pro and that my speaking abilities were great. Bob said I had every class in the palm of my hands!: > )  Bob said he was proud of  me.  That’s a tremendous compliment coming from someone who speaks as well as Bob Hopkins.

Gotta Love Deborah and OfficeMax

Saturday, February 5th, 2011

I went to OfficeMax for office supplies today.  As Lou and I shopped, Deborah asked if we needed help with anything. She helped with finding the ink for my printer.

When it was time to check out, Deborah, was there again with a big smile. I had a chance to mention Just Ask, but didn’t have any cards with me.  Deborah, was nice enough to allow us to take a photo of her.

Thank you Deborah, for your help, and for being so kind! Office Max should be very proud of you!

Reggie Bibbs and the Just Ask! Foundation operate on a shoestring budget, as many non-profits do. We rely on the charity of others. Others who are moved by Reggie’s calling and touched by his courage.

But the “charity of others” doesn’t always mean cash donations. There are many ways you can help Reggie in his mission to spread awareness of NF and inspire others like himself to start living fuller, more rewarding lives.
